It was such an honor to be among amazing people active in their community, and to accept the 2011 Midpeninsula Media Center Local Hero Award for my own contribution. It was also deeply moving to watch my filmed segment, the first time I'd seen any of the footage. I had to take a deep and purposeful breath before being able to stand up at the microphone and speak my first words of appreciation! Thanks so much for those kind words, Teresa.
