Two book signings will be held for the anthology Not Your Mother’s Books…On Cats this month in the Sacramento region: Friday, November 21, 2014, and Sunday, November 23, 2014.

Not Your Mother’s Book anthology creators and local residents Dahlynn and Ken McKowen, along with the book’s co-creator Margie Yee Webb, will be signing Not Your Mother’s Book…On Cats—the ninth book in the NYMB series. Three contributors, who all have cat stories in this wonderful collection, will be signing, as well: Janda Rangel (El Dorado Hills), Michele Cemo (Orangevale) and Steve Liddick (Sacramento).

Also attending the event will be Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode (www.animaloutreach.net). For more than two decades, this local non-profit has helped reduce the number of cats euthanized in the area by providing low cost spay/neuter programs. They will have kittens ready for adoption during the event. Light refreshments will be served.

This event will coincide with Barnes & Noble’s annual “Discovery Weekend,” a store promotion that showcases the fun holiday offerings exclusive to this popular bookstore company. In addition, the store has planned a special lineup of events that weekend, sure to surprise and delight customers of all ages.

Not Your Mother’s Book…On Cats contains 62 stories from cat lovers all over North America. It goes without saying that cats rule the nearly 300 pages of this book. Knowing their proclivity to always be in charge, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Series creators Dahlynn and Ken McKowen spent 10 years developing and co-authoring books for Chicken Soup for the Soul before launching their own anthology. NYMB books are fun, daring, smart and different; you’ll never find sad, sappy or death and dying stories in the series—EVER!

To date, there are 10 books in the series, including On Travel, On Being a Stupid Kid (all those crazy things Baby Boomers did in their youth), On Home Improvement and On Being a Woman.
