March 26 – April 2, 2012
Hedgebrook Master Class on Television and Film
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a television staff? This is your opportunity!
Winnie Holzman, creator of My So-Called Life, and writer of the internationally acclaimed musical Wicked, will introduce a select group of six women to the craft of writing for television. Over the course of a week, you’ll learn how to plan a season, develop characters, pitch ideas for episodes, break down a story, and craft memorable scenes for a one-hour TV drama.
You will stay at the Hedgebrook Retreat near the coast of Washington’s Whidbey Island. Each writer will be housed in their own private cottage. Three meals a day are prepared by a chef from our organic garden.
Join us for the “Hedgebrook Writers Room.”
The Writers in Residence application deadline for 2012 was September 8, 2011. The application process for 2012 is now closed. If you applied for a 2012 residency, please note that decision results will be emailed to you by the end of December 2011.
