I invite you to take a look at Artist & Filmmaker Chandra Garsson’s Platform

What is a platform anyway?  A platform is what your name stands for – what you care about.

Chandra Garsson tells stories through her art and films.  Whether she is producing art, book, jewelry, films, facebook or blog posts, her work always reflects knowledge of subject matter and passion to create.

Recently, Chandra and I had a chance to collaborate again.

In April, when Chandra found out that my ten-minute monologue Answer Me Now (first monologue in my Taking to My Dead Mom series) received an award from the Redwood Writers Ten-Minute Playwriting Contest, she said something to me that I could only dream about: “Teresa, I can film you performing your own work. I have the perfect backdrop.”

First, let me say that . . .

Trust in each other’s work style developed over time . . .

Other Chandra-Garsson-productions I’ve been in:

Teresa LeYung-Ryan speaking out for public libraries in Oakland, CA.

Teresa LeYung-Ryan talking about being a writers’ platform & fanbase-building coach and author of  Love Made of Heart, Mom, and writing.

It was during this impressive one-artist-show at Pro Arts Gallery where I first saw Chandra’s achievements.

The artist takes photographs of her own work commissioned by author Teresa LeYung-Ryan. "When my novel Love Made of Heart was debuted, I asked Chandra Garsson to paint her interpretation of the bookcover (and several personal symbols I had shown her) onto the unfinished bookcase. What a treasure she has created for me."

Dear Chandra,
A magnum opus. I was much saddened watching Art And Gift art by Chandra Garsson music by Andelmoth Digby Sasaki (the suffering from being evicted), but, also in awe seeing the magnitude of work you have accomplished. A beautiful documentary. So proud to know you.

Sincerely, Writers’ Platform & Fanbase-Building Coach Teresa LeYung-Ryan
